Cold-Pressed

Cold-Pressed mechanical extraction is considered one of the best extraction techniques for most oils. Not all oils are best extracted from their raw material with this method for practical purposes. However, when this method is used it produces one of the best quality oils, very close to the original state of the raw material used. The temperatures produced are usually about 90 degrees Fahrenheit, thus creating as little damage to the oil as possible. the oils are excellent for cosmetics and food consumption.

Expeller Pressed

Expeller-Pressed mechanical extraction produces a small amount of heat, normally around 120-200 degrees Fahrenheit. The basic sturcture of the raw material is intact at these relatively low temperatures. This is an economical and practical method producing oils suitable for cosmetics, and food.

Refined

Refined oil is fully processed and can be refined in a variety of ways. The heat applied can vary between 450 degrees and -30 degrees Farenheit. They can also be deodorized, bleached, and more. This removes color and odor, leaving a very stable and economical oil for cosmetics, but not good for food.

Partially Refined

Partially Refined oils use only a few processing methods that the Refined oils use. The oils that are partially refined are normally those that have been known to turn rancid quickly, thus the partial refinement enables them to remain stable longer. It also can remove unwanted odor and color from the oil.

Unrefined

Unrefined oils are the closest to the raw material as you can get, The oil is extracted mechanically and screen-filtered to retain the most natural state of the oil. The color, scent, and feel of the oil is rich. They make great cosmetic and food grade oils.
